Peace and strength

Two words kept running through my head while I painted: strength and peace.

This canvas represents my journey as an immigrant. Nine years ago, I moved to Canada in search of a calmer life. I love it here, but with that dream came challenges I never saw coming. I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone more times than I can count. There were days I thought I wouldn’t make it.

But I held on. I kept trying to see the good in the middle of the chaos, because that’s life: you never have it all at once.

Little by little, I got stronger. Every challenge became a win. Every mistake, a lesson. And I keep moving forward, one day at a time, honouring my story.

I’ve learned that peace isn’t about having everything under control all the time. My peace comes from the strength to accept myself, to understand who I am, and to be proud of my story and the battles I’ve won, even when I was afraid. It comes from loving the people beside me, knowing I’m strong enough for whatever comes next, and trusting there’s a higher power guiding me with every step I take.
