Cintia Polary Bio

Brazilian-Canadian artist based in Ottawa, Cíntia moved to Canada in 2017 with her husband and two small children. She first studied Psychology in Brazil before following her heart to Fashion Design, working as a stylist in São Paulo and Fortaleza. In Canada she rebuilt her path as many people do — navigating survival mode and the quiet question of “who am I now?” That in-between place, as a woman, mother, immigrant, and artist who deeply cares about people, became her greatest inspiration. In 2025, she enrolled at the Milan Art Institute to finally live the life she had dreamed of as a full-time painter.

Her work is a meditation on imperfection. She paints not what is flawless, but what is human. Her process is emotional and tactile: she begins with collages of positive words, then layers lace and different fabrics, and modeling paste — all these textures invite you to physically touch a feeling — and finally finishes with inks and paints. Her paintings honor memory and sentiment, giving permission to be free, to let go of unreachable perfection and embrace our happy little mistakes.

Today she paints from her home studio, open all year round, with hard work and devotion to create memories you can eternalize as art. She believes art is a necessity, art is home, and that we connect in quiet, special ways when a painting reminds us of our own story. Her future dreams are to move to a bigger studio, teach art to children to help them cope with their feelings through texture and color, and travel the world to see its beauties and collect more memories to paint.
