Inspired by Lemons, Created with Heart

Inspired by Lemons, Created with Heart

There is something special about gathering around a table with paintbrushes, good company, and the excitement of creating something by hand.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting another painting workshop in my home studio, where a wonderful group of women—and one very talented young artist—came together to create hand-painted canvas tote bags inspired by bright, cheerful lemons.

The workshop was designed so that everyone, regardless of their artistic experience, could enjoy the process. We began with a simple sketch, learned basic painting techniques, explored layering colours, and gradually watched each design come to life. Every brushstroke added a little more personality, and by the end of the afternoon, no two bags were exactly alike.

One of my favorite parts of every workshop is seeing how creativity unfolds differently for each participant. Starting from the same inspiration, everyone created something uniquely their own. It's always a reminder that art isn't about perfection—it's about expression, confidence, and enjoying the journey.

Beyond painting, these workshops are about connection. Between conversations, laughter, refreshments, and shared encouragement, the room quickly transformed into a welcoming creative space where everyone could relax, slow down, and simply enjoy making something beautiful together.

Watching everyone proudly hold up their finished tote bags at the end of the day was the perfect way to celebrate an afternoon of creativity. Each participant also took home a small plant as a reminder to keep nurturing their creativity long after the workshop ended.

Thank you to everyone who joined me and made this workshop such a joyful experience. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to try something new made the day truly memorable.

If you've been thinking about joining one of my workshops, I'd love to welcome you to a future session. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or you've been creating for years, there's always a place for you around the table.

I can't wait to paint with you soon.
